The new Chevrolet Colorado uses a standard 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine which provides you with 237 horsepower along with 259 pound-feet of torque. It also has an available 301-horsepower option with 390 pound-feet of torque on Colorado Z71 and Trail Boss trims, while the Colorado ZR2 offers 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, which is similar to what's offered on the Silverado 1500. These are the only engine choices available, as the diesel option is no longer available. The power gives it more capability than other popular mid-size truck brands as well, so it's a new and redesigned truck worth considering.
As for its capability, the maximum towing capacity is 7,700 pounds with the likes of the Z71 and Trail Boss trims, while the standard towing is 3,500 pounds, and ZR2 models tow 6,000 pounds. The 7,7700 makes it a leader over other mid-sized trucks.
